Welcome to Rice Family News

Welcome one and all. In order to keep everyone up to date on the happenings of the Arkansas Rice's, I thought I'd attempt to create a blog. This is obviously the first posting. Feel free to comment on the things within this blog, we welcome the contact.

It's spring/summer already down here, and we're enjoying the warm weather. We're attempting to plant some grass, and it has begun growing, though the lack of rain may make it difficult. As most or all of you know, Leigh Ann is pregnant, and we're expecting a new rice around the end of October. We're both very excited and looking forward to this new stage in life. I must also admit that I'm a bit terrified at the same time.

Last weekend we made an unexpected visit to Wisconsin for my Grandpa's funeral. While it the reason for the visit was one of mourning, the opportunity to spend time with family was greatly treasured. We had a great time visiting and seeing people again. All the nieces and nephews change so fast, it's always great to see them when we can. Grace has grown so much, she's now crawling and on the verge of walking. And best of all, she actually chose me over Sarah for a few minutes!

Glenhaven is currently on spring break, and we're looking forward to getting ahead over the next week. We'll also be taking some of the remaining guys on ranch backing packing for a night or two. That should prove to be interesting since we've never been on these trails before. A journey I'm sure that will prove exciting.

I'll try to keep everyone updated on our activities here. I'll also try and include a lot of pictures so that ya'll don't forget who we are.

Until next time....
