Summertime

Well summer is upon us once again and God turned up the heat. It has been mid to upper 90s for a couple weeks now. Thank goodness for air conditioning and froggy pools. Thanks to Nana and Grandpa Tucker, Elijah has been enjoying his very own froggy pool. He loves to splash and play, especially when Dad gets in too. Jeff...aren't you a little big for that?!?

It is hard to believe that Elijah is almost 8 months old. He is growing so fast! He is almost sitting independently and loves to try to walk. His legs are VERY strong. His newest trick is clapping his hands. At church yesterday, he was entertaining the ladies by clapping both his hands and feet at the same time. What a little monkey!

Despite the fact that Jeff's last surgery went extremely well, the recovery has been hard. However, God is faithful and we are persevering. We are looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa Rice visiting next week. We are also looking forward to Elijah's Great-Grandma Waelde visiting this week.

Summer brings change on the ranch. Jeff will be teaching some summer school and also working in the office. It is a time for hard work but also much play. The kids will be at camp for two weeks this summer and also working several days a week. They have a built in "play day" in their schedule during which they usually head to a nearby water/amusement park for some fun in the sun.

Summer is also a time when we say goodbye to some of the kids who have called Glenhaven home. Saying goodbye is never easy but it was especially hard to say goodbye to Brittany who had become like a little sister to us. She is an awesome kid and was great with Eli. We are going to miss her dearly.

Well, Elijah's nap is almost over so I am going to bring this to a close and get a rest before my busy boy awakes. God bless!
