April began with a fun filled Easter weekend. We were invited to join some friends in an Easter Egg Extravaganza. There were 400 eggs filled with candy and toys hidden for 10 children. The kids had so much fun finding the eggs and exploring their treasures. Ava and Marie also got in on the fun and were sticky from the candy in no time. We also enjoyed a special time at church the next day reflecting on just what an Awesome God we serve! He is our Risen Savior!
The following week, Marie began therapy full time. She now attends a developmental therapy center 5 days a week. This was a difficult transition for Mom but Marie LOVES it. She now gets all her therapy at one center and Mom doesn't have to drive her back and forth 6 times a week.
Thad's soccer season continued. It is so fun to watch him as he laughs and does silly things while he enjoys the game. He can also be seen picking flowers and looking at bugs during the game. So silly!
The fun came to a screeching halt during the middle of the month when the flu struck our family with a vengeance. Only Marie was spared. It was a rough week and a half to say the least. Thankfully, the Lord has restored health to our family!
On, April 17th, while the flu ravaged our family, Marie's judge made a decision that we have been waiting her whole life for: termination of parental rights. It is a sad ending for Marie's biological Mom but a happy one for us. It allows us to take the next step and begin the adoption process. There are still hurdles to overcome but we hope and pray the Lord will pave the way for her to become a permanent part of our family!
At the end of the month, we found out that Ava too needs some therapy to catch up in areas where she is behind. She started attending the same developmental therapy center as Marie. Mommy's days are about to be very different.
On April 29th, Mommy and Daddy celebrated their ninth anniversary. It has been an amazing adventure and we are so thankful for God bringing us together!
We hope that you too enjoyed the hope we have in Christ as another Easter season came and went. We are so thankful we serve the one, true, living God!!!
